Armed Robberies Reported In Lincoln Square, Ravenswood

Police are searching for suspects driving a Blue Nissan Versa, authorities said.

CHICAGO, IL — Chicago police have issued a community alert for the city's Northwest Side after two armed robberies. Both robberies happened Thursday in the Lincoln Square and Ravenswood neighborhoods, police said. In separate incidents, the offenders went up to victims, pulled out a handgun and took their property, police said.

The first robbery happened in the 2400 block of W. Winona around 5:55 a.m., and the second happened in the 4900 block of N. Oakley around 6:10 a.m., police said.

Police said the robbers took off in a blue 2016 Nissan Versa, with Illinois' license plate AR53172. The car was taken in a hijacking, police said. One of the offenders was wearing a red hooded jacket, according to police.
