A deadly fire broke out in a home on Chicago's North Side, according to fire officials.

CHICAGO, IL — A man was killed in a house fire Wednesday afternoon on the city's North Side, according to the Chicago Fire Department. Fire crews surrounded a home in the 2400 block of Gunnison in Lincoln Square, fire officials said. The fire started around 1:40 p.m., and spread to all three floors of the building, the department said.
After residents escaped from the building, the man was unaccounted for, fire officials said. A body was then found on the third floor, according to the Chicago Fire Department. Officials said access to the attic was cut off by the fire and the man couldn't escape.
At least six people were displaced, fire officials said. The fire was extinguished around 2:30 p.m.
