Five people have been arrested after the robbery, police said.

CHICAGO — An off-duty cop was robbed at gunpoint in the city's Edgewater neighborhood Thursday morning, police said. Five people were arrested after the robbery, according to police.

The off-duty officer was robbed in the 5800 block of North Winthrop Avenue just after she parked her car around midnight, police said. A group of men pointed a gun at her, took her keys and got into her Lexus SUV and drove off, according to police.

The SUV was seen around three hours later on the South Side and police started a brief chase. The suspects then got out of the vehicle near 55th and South Shore Drive and ran, but officers were able to catch them and recover a weapon, police said.
