Haugan Elementary in Chicago Held Their 1st McTeacher's Night!

Over thirty-three teachers and staff worked at the McTeacher's Night, June 12th at the Peterson Ave McDonald's

What a perfect night for a Fundraising event. And what a perfect night to end the school year. It was a beautiful summer night and the Haugan Families all came to support the school and see their teachers behind the counter at the Peterson Ave. McDonald's in Chicago. The Teacher's and staff were happy to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families and raise some money for the Haugan after-school programs

Over thirty-three teachers and staff worked at the McTeacher's Night including Principal Rosa Valdez and Assistant Principal Luis Avila who also dressed in a Pie Box. The McTeacher jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, selling pies, and making refreshing ice cream treats. Counselor Samantha Uribe and Assistant Principal Luis Avila dressed in the pie costume the entire night and were assisted by pie sellers Madson and Ramirez to name a couple that helped. All the Haugan teachers were their pitching in for their very first McTeacher's Night. Mrs. Bianchini made ice cream treats the entire night while Mrs.Orr worked hard at the drive-thru.

To make this night even more memorable the school's chorus stopped by to perform and did a great job!

A Special thank you goes to fifth-grade teacher Behida Duskic, who organized the event as well as everyone who volunteered and worked so hard to make this event a successful one for Haugan Elementary. The School plans to put the money raised into their fund to support the after-school programs at Haugan.
