Illinois Sen. Jack Franks introduces a new anti-corruption bill

It's kind of pathetic Illinois would even need a law like this one on the books

Illinois’ political history is checkered with tales of corruption, patronage and underhanded dealings. Democratic state Rep. Jack Franks of Marengo introduced House Bill 1440 Feb. 5 in an effort to curb Illinois’ further association with such political blemishes.

Franks said in a statement regarding his ethics bill: “Our state’s track record with corrupt public officials would be comical if it weren’t so tragically real,” Franks said. “Despite this deplorable history, we must not continue accepting cronyism, sleaze and backroom deals as if they are simply a fact of life.”

See the details of the ethics bill and how Sen. Franks hopes it will help improve our state’s culture of corruption.
