John Goodman Sci-Fi Movie Will Shut Down Some Streets, Alleys In Edgewater
Certain areas also will have parking restrictions while the movie "Captive State" films in the neighborhood Tuesday.

CHICAGO, IL — Filming for "Captive State," a sci-fi movie starring John Goodman and Vera Farmiga, will shut down certain streets and alleys and create parking restrictions in the Edgewater neighborhood through Tuesday night, according to an udpate from 48th Ward Alderman Harry Osterman.
City tow zone and no parking signs will be put up in the affected locations starting at 5 p.m. Monday, March 6, and the restrictions will last until 10 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, the update stated. The street and alley closings are being done to allow the production crew to park its necessary vehicles and equipment, the update added.
According to the movie's IMDb entry, "Captive State" is set in a Chicago neighborhood almost 10 years after an alien occupation, and the film examines the lives on both sides of the conflict. It's directed by Ruper Wyatt ("Rise of the Planet of the Apes" and producer behind the Fox TV series "The Exorcist," which also filmed in Chicago) and also stars Ashton Sanders ("Moonlight").
