Knife-Wielding Robber Hit Subway, Then Walks to Potbelly for Dinner: Cops

Chicago cops say they arrested him as he was eating a sandwich.

A man robbed a North Side Subway shop at knifepoint, then he crossed the street, went into a Potbelly, ordered a sandwich and sat down for dinner, according to Chicago police. And that’s where cops found him still munching away.

When cops took 43-year-old Fredrick Warren into custody, the South Side man was carrying a folding knife and $186 in cash, according to police.

The brazen dinnertime robbery took place around 5 p.m. on April 26 in the Subway at 6449 N. Sheridan Road near the Loyola University campus. Police reviewed university surveillance camera video and saw the robber walk down Sheridan, cross the street, and then walk back up the block and into the Potbelly at 6464 N. Sheridan.
