Lincoln Square Shooting Victim Was Longtime Cab Driver
Police identified the 59-year-old, who was shot in the head and found inside his taxi Monday morning.

CHICAGO, IL - A cab driver was fatally shot Monday morning near a library in Lincoln Square.
Police have identified the victim as Kamil Shamji, a 59-year-old who had been a cab driver for 55 years, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Shamji, who was found shortly before 8 a.m. in the 4400 block of North Leavitt Street, worked for Flash Cab, which released a statement following news of his death.

“Flash Cab extends its deepest condolences to his family and many friends.” He worked for the company for 20 years.
DNAinfo Chicago originally reported that the victim, who was found in his cab near the Sulzer Regional Library, was shot in the head.
