Man Hit By Brown Line Train In Lincoln Square
An 18-year-old was struck and killed early New Year's Day.

CHICAGO, IL — A man was struck and killed by a Brown Line train Monday morning on the city's Northwest Side, police said. The 18-year-old was hit in the Lincoln Square neighborhood around 6:40 a.m. He fell into an alley below, authorities said.
According to police, the man was walking on the tracks in the 4600 block of North Western Avenue, when he was hit by the train and fell from the tracks into an alley in the 2400 block of West Eastwood Avenue.
The man was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he died, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Trains stopped operating in the area after the man was hit. Service was back up and running by 8:41 a.m., according to CTA alerts.
