Man Injured In Rogers Park Fire

A man's condition has stabilized after he was treated for smoke inhalation, officials said.

CHICAGO, IL — Firefighters were called to a residential fire on Chicago's Far North Side Tuesday morning, fire officials said. The fire broke out in a Rogers Park courtyard building in the 1300 block of West Estes, according to the Chicago Fire Department. Firefighters arrived on scene around 6:16 to a still and box alarm, officials said.

The fire was extinguished quickly on the first and second floor of the building, the department said.

A 62-year-old man was taken to Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston and treated for smoke inhalation, officials said. His condition was stabilized, according to authorities.

No other injuries were reported, officials said. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
