Man Shot In Head, Killed In Albany Park

A 19-year-old man was shot Thursday night, police said. He was a recent graduate from Roosevelt High School, according to a report.

CHICAGO, IL — A 19-year-old man has died after he was shot on the city's Northwest Side late Thursday night, police said. He was shot in the head around 11:15 p.m. in Albany Park, according to police. The shooting happened in the 5000 block of North Albany Avenue, police said.

Investigators said the victim, Carlos Pagan, 19, had no gang ties and no criminal history. The Chicago Police Department said detectives are investigating the shooting as a possible case of mistaken identity.

Pagan was a recent graduate from Roosevelt High School, according to a report by ABC 7 Chicago. His friend was walking his dog with Pagan when a dark-colored SUV drove by twice and someone got out to fire shots, according to the report. Pagan's friend was grazed by a bullet.

Area North detectives were investigating. No one was in custody.
