McFun for West Ridge Elementary at the Peterson Ave. McDonald's

West Ridge Elementary School in Chicago held their 1st McTeacher's Night on Thursday, May 10th at the McDonald's in Chicago on Peterson Ave.

What a perfect night for a Fundraising event. It was a perfect Spring night and the West Ridge Families all came to support the school and see their teachers behind the counter at the Peterson Ave. McDonald's in Chicago. The Teacher's and staff were happy to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families and raise some money for West Ridge.

Over twenty-one teachers and staff worked at the McTeacher's Night including Principal Sofios and Assistant Principal Gullo. The McTeacher jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, selling pies, and making refreshing ice cream treats. Teachers Kelly Miller and Kim Howard dressed in the pie costume the entire night and were assisted by pie sellers Mrs. Kennedy, Ms. Lackman and Mrs. Khatoon to name a few that helped. All the West Ridge teachers were their pitching in for their very first McTeacher's Night. Ms. Sullivan and Phyllis Diakatos worked the entire night on the fries. Ed Doherty made ice cream treats the entire night while Mike Sawchuk kept the restaurant clean.

To make this night even more memorable the schools musical theater group stopped by to perform and did a great job!

A Special thank you goes to Assistant Principal, Matt Gullo, who organized the event as well as everyone who volunteered and worked so hard to make this event a successful one for West Ridge Elementary. The School plans to put the money raised into their fund to help pay for student incentives and activities.
