More Than 120 Artists Coming To North Side For Glenwood Arts Fest

The 17th annual event will also feature 30 live bands.

CHICAGO, IL — More than 15,000 art lovers of all ages are expected to flock to Rogers Park this weekend for the 17th annual Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest, a free weekend-long festival that includes a street art fair and live entertainment on three outdoor stages. The event will also have a KidFest area that features free hands-on arts activities.

Local artists will demonstrate techniques and works-in-progress at a live demo area at Glenwood and Morse starting at 11 a.m. each day. The demo area will feature pottery, quilting, tassel-making and fused glass.

Bands will be performing on three stages throughout each day.

  • WHEN: Saturday, August 18 from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Sunday, August 19 from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • WHERE: Steps from the Morse stop on the CTA Red Line (Morse and Glenwood Avenues)

There is no admission charge or gated entry for the Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest. All the outdoor performance events and artmaking demos are free.

The festival’s food vendors are local Rogers Park restaurants and bars including Empirical Brew Pub, Heartland Cafe, J.B Alberto’s, Rogers Park Social and Smack Dab Bakery.

Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest is a community-based, grassroots, non-profit event that is planned and produced by volunteers.
