North Side Apartment Fire Injures 2, Including Firefighter
One of the people who escaped the fire was in critical condition, officials said.

CHICAGO, IL — Two people were injured in a fire Monday morning in the North Park neighborhood, fire officials said. The fire broke out on the fourth floor of an apartment building in the 5600 block of North Spaulding, according to the Chicago Fire Department. The fire was put out just before 10 a.m., officials said.
A person was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital in critical condition, officials said. A firefighter suffered a shoulder injury, the department said.
The cause of fire was under investigation.

Still & Box at 5621 N. Spaulding has been struck; resulted in a civilian transport to local hospital in serious condition and 1 department member with minor injury transported for evaluation.
