Person Killed by Metra Train in Ravenswood

​Service suspended on the UP-North Line as passengers urged to take the CTA.

CHICAGO, IL - Metra service was suspended on the UP-North line near Ravenswood Friday morning after a person was struck and killed by a train.

The person, who hasn’t yet been identified, was hit around 9:40 a.m. near the Ravenswood station, according to DNAinfo Chicago.

The CTA Brown Line will honor Metra tickets until the service is back up and running.

A statement from the Chicago Fire Department indicated the death is being considered a suicide.
