Police, SWAT Called To NW Side After Attempted Bank Robbery
FBI said a bank robber escaped to a home in Portage Park. Police SWAT teams surrounded the home.

CHICAGO, IL — SWAT and police were called to the city's Northwest Side after an attempted bank robbery Tuesday morning, FBI said. A man tried to rob a bank around 10:45 a.m. in the 4600 block of West Irving Park road, police said. He then about half a mile away and went into a home in the 4900 block of West Addison, police said.
SWAT teams surrounded the home, and the man was taken into custody around 2 p.m., police said.
No. 152 Addison buses were temporarily rerouted via Addison, Laramie, Irving Park and Cicero, according to the Chicago Transit Authority.

According to CBS, the Archdiocese of Chicago reported that St. Bartholomew School was on soft lockdown until the suspect was arrested.
