Police Warn Of Burglaries In Uptown

Burglars are breaking into homes through rear windows or unlocked doors, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — Police have issued a community alert in the Lincoln District warning of North Side burglaries. The break-ins happened between April 16 and May 5 in Uptown within a few blocks of each other, police said. In all three burglaries, suspects broke into homes by forcing open a rear window or entering through unlocked doors.

The burglaries happened in the following locations:

• 1300 block of W. Carmen Ave. on April 16, at around 12:15 p.m.
• 1300 block of W. Argyle Ave. on April 25, between 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
• 1200 block of W. Winona Ave., on May 5 at around 10:00 p.m.

No one was in custody. Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263.
