Police Warn Of Ravenswood, Uptown Business Burglaries

Four North Side businesses have been targeted in October, police said.

CHICAGO — Police issued a community alert after business burglaries in the Uptown and Ravenswood neighborhoods earlier this month. Burglars broke into four businesses by smashing windows or glass doors with a brick or piece of concrete, police said.

The suspects then took money from cash registers and fled.

Police said the burglaries occurred in the following locations:

  • 1000 block of West Argyle Street at 2:47 a.m. on Oct. 14
  • 5100 block of North Clark Street at 3:11 a.m. on Oct. 16
  • 4800 block of North Broadway between 11:30 p.m. Oct. 15 and 9 a.m. Oct. 16
  • 1000 block of West Lawrence Avenue at around 3:15 a.m. Oct. 19
