Police Warn Of Uptown Robberies Near CTA Red Line Station

Police are searching for two suspects who targeted victims in Uptown.

CHICAGO, IL — Police have issued a community alert warning North Side residents of two robberies in the 20th Police District. Both robberies happened on the same block on Argyle Street near the CTA Red Line Station, according to the alert. In both incidents, the offenders went up to victims on the sidewalk and stole their property, police said.

Both robberies happened in the 1100 block of West Argyle, according to the alert. The first happened March 7 at 8:40 a.m., and the second robbery happened March 11 at 6:20 a.m., police said.

The offender in the March 7 robbery is described as a Hispanic man between 30 and 35 years old, about 5-foot-6, with black braids, according to police. He was wearing a red jacket, police said.

The suspect in the March 11 robbery is described as a black man between 17 and 27 years old, between 5-foot-8 at 5-foot-10, with short hair. He was wearing a red jacket and black boots, police said.
