Ravenswood Resident Suzy Kahn Weinberg, Co-Produces Is this a thing? for Lifeline Theatre’s 25th Annual Fillet of Solo Festival, running virtually January 21- February 13.

Is this a thing? is a storytelling show that features new and experienced writers and tellers of true personal tales in a welcoming and nurturing space and place. Since 2014, their theme-inspired monthly show has been happening at O’Shaughnessy’s in Ravenswood on the second Monday of the month, from February to July and September to December. The stories all benefit from a supportive workshop, so the performers and producers can listen to each other and share ideas. Is this a thing? features David Barish, Jake Cowan, Carissa Letz, Leah Stallone, Suzy Kahn Weinberg, & Joy Wright.

Lifeline’s 25th Annual Fillet of Solo Festival celebrates the breadth of Chicago’s enduring storytelling and live-lit scene, while supporting the legacy of producers like Suzy Kahn Weinberg. In its new virtual format, Lifeline unites 10 storytelling collectives and 28 solo performers together from all over the country, in a three-week online gallery of powerful, personal stories.

The 2022 Fillet of Solo Festival will stream online via a password-protected website where ticket holders will have access to the full lineup of stories until the Festival concludes. Ticket prices are “Name Your Price” (suggested $45) for access to the gallery for the full three weeks PLUS live virtual extras including panel discussions and storytelling workshops with Festival artists.
