Residents Knocked Down, Beaten In Strong Arm Robberies: COPS
Dist. 20 police warn residents of uptick in strong arm robberies.

Dist. 20 police are warning residents to be aware of their surroundings especially late at night after four strong-arm robberies were reported in the late December and early January.
Three of the robberies occurred late in the evening on the sidewalk. The other happened at a CTA station.
The purported robbers usually approach from different directions and knock down or beat down their victims before taking money and other valuables.

Robberies have been reported at the following times and locations:
- 1100 block of West Argyle on Dec. 6.
- 4900 block of North Broadway on Dec. 31
- 4900 block of North Leavitt on Jan. 3
- 1400 block of West Winona on Jan. 4
Police believe the robberies are taking place between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m.

The suspects are described as two African American males, approximately 15 to 23 years in age, approximately 5-feet-3-inches to 5-feet-7-inches tall, 140 to 160 pounds, with short hair and a dark complexion.
The second suspect is in his mid to late 20s, about six feet tall and weighing 190 to 220 pounds. He has short hair and a dark complexion.
