The Return Of Jim Spencer
Remember Jim Spencer from St. Matthias ('80) or Spencer's Song & Dance Saloon?

Jim Spencer grew up here and he’s making news again. Jim’s the former owner of the Lincoln Square legend Spencer’s Song & Dance Saloon and he’s a graduate of St. Matthias 1980, then Gordon Tech 1984, then University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign 1988. When Jim wasn’t in Chicago, he was busy making a name for himself in Beverly Hills, Hollywood and Las Vegas. Now Jim’s back, but his new job takes him to Old Town: he’s the GM of a new restaurant on Wells St. The new “Pomp & Circumstance” was built inside a renovated, 2-story building in Old Town. The 1st floor is a bar and dining room, while the 2nd floor is a lounge and private party room with patio garden. The menu features a mix of the classics, plus new dishes made by Executive Chef Chad Mace. Jim says: “My mission at Pomp & Circumstance is to create an environment that’s never dull, but always relaxing and inviting. I’ve met and reconnected with many locals already, and they’ve welcomed us to the neighborhood. I can’t wait to return the favor!” Jim also says the lure of Chicagoland, friends and family brought him full circle back to his roots here, and he’s having a great time running the new Pomp & Circumstance while living in Lincoln Square once again.
