Chicago, IL - The summer of 2016 continues in Chicago with a full slate of fun this weekend. Who needs the Olympics, anyway?
Dinner and a Movie (Ghostbusters) at ArcLight: The hit remake of Ghostbusters featuring all female stars will show as part of ArcLight Cinemas’ “Dinner & Movie” night, beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday. The event features dinner at Knife & Tine and then the opening night show of Ghostbusters at one of the city’s newest theaters in Lincoln Park. Tickets can be bought in singles or doubles.
Navy Pier’s 100th Birthday Celebration: Free activities and events - including a birthday party - are offered at Navy Pier on Friday, July 15 to celebrate the Chicago favorite’s 100th anniversary. It’s part of the Fifth Third Bank Centennial Celebration. The fun continues into Friday evening, when guests will raise a glass to the beginning of the pier’s second century at 9:25 p.m., then enjoy a special 100th Anniversary Fireworks show at 9:30 p.m., presented by Miller Lite.

Puppy Parade: At least six puppies will be part of a parade from the Anti-Cruelty Society to Prudential Plaza at 11:45 a.m. on Friday, organizers told the Chicagoist this week.
Suburban Honorable Mention: The Chicago Open Air Festival, the largest heavy metal gathering in the nation, takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Toyota Park in Bridgeview. Rammstein, Disturbed, Slipknot and Marilyn Manson will headline.
