'Speed Bump' Rouse Hits Homeowners in Albany Park

Burglars claim to be working in the alley.

CHICAGO, IL - A few instances of burglars claiming to be working on constructing a peeed bump in an alley behind the victim's home have popped up this week in Albany Park.

In both cases - reported Monday in the 6000 block of North Ridgeway and the 4200 block of North Spaulding - a white or Hispanic man knocked on the victim's door and claimed to be constructing a speed bump in the alley behind the home.

While the victim is distracted, other schemers enter the residence and remove valuables.

The suspects are described as 2-3 male white (or white Hispanic) offenders, 5-05 to 5-07, 30-45 years of age observed driving off in a black jeep or black van.
