Woman Sexually Assaulted On NW Side Brown Line Platform

A woman was on a station platform in Ravenswood Manor when a man sexually abused her, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — Police are looking for a suspect after a sexual assault was reported in Ravenswood Manor Thursday night. A 20-year-old woman was on the Brown Line's Francisco station platform when she was attacked, police said. The assault happened around 10:35 p.m. at the station at 4648 N. Francisco Ave. on the Northwest Side, police said.

The suspect went up to the woman and engaged her in conversation, police said. He then began kissing her on the neck and mouth, and tried to put his hand down her pants, according to police. The suspect then took off with the woman's cellphone and wallet, police said.

The woman was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital for observation, police said.

The suspect was described as a black man with red/auburn dreadlocks, around 18 to 25 years old, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-11 and 150 to 180 lbs, police said. He was wearing a red sweatsuit with a white and black insignia, police said.
