Woman Sexually Assaulted Outside Her Home In Sheridan Park

The woman was attacked Tuesday on Chicago's North Side.

CHICAGO, IL — Police have issued a community alert for North Side residents warning that a woman was sexually assaulted in the city's Sheridan Park neighborhood early Tuesday morning. The attack happened in the 4400 block of North Magnolia around 2:30 a.m., police said. The 30-year-old woman was walking into the front courtyard of her home when a man threw her to the ground and sexually assaulted her, police said.

The man then took off from the courtyard in an unknown direction, police said.

Few details have been released about the offender — he's described as black, between 25-35 years old, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-11, and around 150 to 190 lbs with short black hair, dark skin and possible facial hair. He was wearing dark clothing, police said.
