2 Commanders Join Police Force In Lisle

LISLE, IL — The Lisle Police Department (LPD) has added two new commanders to its ranks. Michael Akim and Anthony Terranova were sworn in at Monday night's village meeting.

Prior to this role, Terranova has worked with Glen Ellyn Police Department for 26 years. He has served as commander of the department's investigations division for three years.

Terranova's experience also includes serving on the DEA Chicago Airport Interdiction Group as a task force officer for 12 years and serving on the DuPage County Tactical Narcotics Team.

Akim comes out of his retirement from the Broadview Police Department to join LPD. There, he spent 24 years in roles that included commander/administrative lieutenant, detective sergeant, patrol sergeant tactical officer, undercover officer and patrol officer. Akim also worked as an inspector for the Illinois State Police Narcotics and Currency Interdiction Unit and detective supervisor for the West Suburban Major Crimes Task Force.

During Monday's swearing-in ceremony, Lisle Police Chief Michael A. Rodriguez said, "Anthony Terranova and Michael Akim join our command structure bringing their diverse operational experience and administrative perspectives that will further strenghten the department"
