LISLE, IL — The Lisle Park District has scheduled a series of open houses to give residents a chance to see concepts and share feedback about plans for a new community recreation center.
To fund the recreation center, the park district is considering putting a $29.5 million bond referendum question on the Nov. 3 ballot.
The upcoming open houses will be held:
In 2023, a survey conducted by the Lisle Park District showed that residents were interested in more opportunities for indoor recreation. Residents expressed specific interest in options that included pickleball courts and a walking track.
PROS Consulting was later hired to conduct a feasibility study that launched in February 2025. The findings of the study were presented during a Lisle Park District meeting in November.
The open house will include rendered images of proposed designs and proposals for activities the facility can offer. Residents can also learn more about the project's expected costs and how those will impact their property taxes.
