LISLE, IL — Lisle police will increase patrols starting May 15 as part of a traffic safety initiative that coincides with the Memorial Day holiday.
During the initiative, part of the statewide "Click It or Ticket" campaign, police will be especially vigilant for seatbelt violations.
“Buckle up every trip, every time,” Sergeant William Wise said in a statement. “Seat belts save lives, and we are committed to keeping our roads safe.”
The increased patrols will take place during both daytime and nighttime hours. Lisle police warn that drivers violating seatbelt laws will be pulled over and ticketed.
The safety campaign is expected to last through May 26.
