This year marks the 16th annual installment of the Glass Pumpkin Patch sale. The one-of-a-kind gourds are made by local glass artists, who will offer live demonstrations on the arboretum's West Lawn during the sale.
The Glass Pumpkin Patch will be open to the public with paid arboretum admission from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 9 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 10 and Oct. 11. Presale viewing will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Oct. 9.
Glass blowers will perform live demonstrations every half hour between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Oct.9 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 10 and Oct. 11 , with the final demonstration at 4:30 p.m. Flameworking demonstrations, which show how the glass is shaped with heat, will be held hourly from 12:15 p.m. through 3:15 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday of the sale.
