LISLE, IL — "Wuthering Heights" comes to life at Morton Arboretum this October in the form of a Walking Play in which the story unfolds along a 1.5-mile walk with audience members.
The full-length performances are adapted for the outdoors. This adaptation of "Wuthering Heights" will be "a more faithful retelling of the original novel [than the recent film]—a true ghost story for the spookier fall season," according to a description on the event page.
The arboretum encourages attendees to bring chairs or blankets, water and bug repellent.
Performances are scheduled for Oct. 17, 18, 24 and 25 at 4 p.m. The Oct. 17 show will coincide with a low-impact, half-mile hike to accommodate visitors with limited mobility. This hike will stay on paved pathways as much as possible.
Tickets are $17 for arboretum members who are 18 and older and $27 for nonmembers who are 18 and older. The cost for children two through 17 years old is $7 for members and $17 for nonmembers. Children under two get in free.
