LISLE, IL — Lisle will old a Committee on the Whole meeting Monday to discuss updates to the village's Main Street Streetscape plans. The suggested changes come after meetings with local business owners.
As of October, the Main Street Streetscape project is estimated to cost $7 million, according to village documents.
The modifications include an expansion of the pedestrian zone on Main Street's west side. Additionally, the updated plans call for the diagonal parking spaces on Main Street to be changed to parallel parking spaces.
Other updates include adding an amenity zone that can be used for art installations, public seating and a dining area.
The multi-million dollar project will include repaving sidewalks and consolidating the brick pavement on Main Street. The streetscape plans also call for the addition of public art, outdoor fireplaces, festoon lighting and more landscaping.
Construction is expected to start in 2027.
