LISLE, IL — Lisle's Planning and Zoning Commission will host a public hearing on Nov. 18 to discuss plans to build a mixed-use development with 224 residential units at the former Family Square site.

According to village documents, petitioners are proposing a building with 12,800 square feet of commercial space, along with the 224 residential units. A parking garage with 456 spaces would be integrated into the building.

The proposal requires special use permits for residential multi-unit use, ground floor office use and a parking garage. Zoning variances are being requested for building height, building material and parking variations.

The long-vacant shopping center at the intersection of Main Street and Ogden Avenue was formerly home to a Citgo gas station, a nail salon, a gyro restaurant, a liquor store and a laundromat. The three-acre site was acquired by Flaherty & Collins Properties.

Earlier this year, the village voted to extend the term of the area's tax increment financing (TIF) district. The current TIF District is effective until 2038.

The Nov. 18 meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at Lisle Village Hall, 925 Burlington.
