Because One Is Too Many
WAR Chest Boutique believes education is one the most important tools in ending this problem.
Statistics are constantly being thrown at us: 1 in 4 women will become the victim of domestic violence, 1 in 5 women will be sexually assaulted in college, 1 in 6 men will be sexually assaulted before the age of 18. We read the articles full of heart wrenching stories about assault and violence in our communities, but what can we do about it?
WAR Chest Boutique believes education is one the most important tools in ending this problem. Jessie Dattalo & Meggie Zayas will be presenting their program Because One is Too Many on April 29th at 6:30 at the boutique (4 E. Jefferson Ave, Naperville).
Their program will include a discussion of the following topics:
* Myths of assault
* Assault & pop culture
* Being an assault survivor (women AND men)
* Student’s Rights
* What to do if someone discloses to you
* What we can do as a community
* Resources
The 29th is also National Denim Day so please wear your jeans to raise awareness of sexual assault!
