Benedictine's Brittany Wolski becomes a conference all-time leader in hits, and Brittany Adcox pitched a perfect game this past Saturday.

Brittany Wolski became the Northern Athletics Conference all-time hits leader when she tallied her 211th hit of her career on Saturday afternoon against Alverno College and earned the NAC Player of the Week honor.

Wolski tallied 16 hits on the week for a .615 batting average and extended her hit streak to nine games. The senior shortstop helped her team to a perfect week, going 7-0 with wins over Cardinal Stritch, Dominican University, Wheaton College and Alverno College.

At the plate, the Orland Park, Ill. native had mulit-hits in all but one game including tallying four hits and three RBI against Dominican and going 3-4 against CSU with four runs.

Overall, Wolski leads the Eagles with a .440 batting average. In 91 at-bats, she has a team leading 43 hits and also posts two doubles, three triples, two homeruns and 18 RBI. She leads the team with 18 stolen bases and owns a .469 on-base percentage.

After two wins against Concordia University-Chicago on Tuesday night, Wolski holds the record with 216 total hits.

Benedictine sits atop the NAC standings with a 13-1 record and the Eagles are 21-8 overall.

April 21: Benedictine University vs. Edgewood College
Benedictine University’s Brittany Adcox pitched a perfect game on Saturday, April 21, helping the Eagles defeat Edgewood College 9-0 (5 innings) in the first game then beat EC 8-3 in the nightcap.

Adcox was perfect through five innings with six strikeouts in game one. In game two, Benedictine took a 7-0 lead in the first inning and went on to win 8-3 for the final.

Adcox is the second Benedictine pitcher to throw a no-hitter this season. Freshman Eryn Pondo pitched a perfect game against Wisconsin Lutheran College on April 6.

 

Benedictine is currently on a 17-game winning streak and hopes to extend that streak next Saturday, April 28, when they travel to Marian University for a 12:00 pm doubleheader.
