Join the Lisle Community Band and/or Lisle Community Jazz Band!

The Lisle Community Band invites you to be a member of our concert band and/or our jazz band for the 2013 Summer Concert Season. Conducted by Steven Green, this is the bands 27th year of bringing quality family entertainment to the Village of Lisle. We are looking forward to an exciting and fun-filled summer of music.

A wonderful variety of music is planned for this summer with a mixture of marches, classical, original works for band, and popular music from movies and Broadway. We encourage a variety in our membership as well. High school age students through adults of any age are welcome to join. While some band members are accomplished performers, most are students, teachers, business professionals or retired individuals with a shared passion for learning and performing the finest musical literature. If you have not been playing for a while, get your instrument out and come join us to rekindle all the fun you had performing in the past.

Both bands are open without audition to musicians on all woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. The only requirements are the ability to read print music and have the desire to play!

The fee for all members is $30 each season. The maximum fee for members of one family regardless of number is $60. The LCB is incorporated as a not-for-profit organization with a board of directors. As a member you will vote for our board of directors. If you are interested you may run for a position on the board.

Our concert band rehearsals are Tuesday and Thursday starting Tuesday, June 11th, and every Tuesday in July. Rehearsals are from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Lisle Senior High School, 1800 Short St. The jazz band rehearsals start Sunday, June 9 with George Dzuricsko directing. Concerts are performed outdoors at Lisle Community Park, just across the street from the high school. Our concert band schedule begins with a concert at 7:30 on June 27. We will march in a short parade on Thursday July 4th in celebration of Independence Day. Concert dates are Thursdays June 27th, July 11th, July18th, Juy 25th and the Jazz Band performs on Thursday August 1st.
