Chesterbrook Academy® Preschool Students Donate Food and Books
In honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday, students hosted a food and book drive to benefit a local food pantry and children's hospital

Students from Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Lisle recently donated more than 300 pounds of nonperishable food items and 70 books in honor of Dr. Seuss’s 114th birthday. As a part of the school-wide birthday celebration, students hosted a book fair and a two-week drive to collect the donations. At the close of the drive, students helped load vehicles with food donations for delivery to the Lisle Township Food Pantry. In addition, the book donations benefitted children at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of giving back to their community.
The Lisle Township Food Pantry benefits township residents who are in need. Staffed by a group of dedicated volunteers, it is their goal to make sure that no person goes hungry. The Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago provides superior pediatric care in a setting that offers the latest benefits and innovations in medical technology, research and family-friendly design.
