Chesterbrook Academy Preschoolers Donate Gifts for 78 Families
Students held a gift drive in support of The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program
On Dec. 8, students at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Lisle presented a donation of gifts to a representative from The Salvation Army. Over the past month, students worked together to fulfill the wishes of 78 local families in need through The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. During Chesterbrook Academy’s holiday celebration, students helped to load the gifts onto the organization’s van for delivery to the families who will receive them, as well as decorated cookies and took photos with Santa. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of giving back to their community and helping others.
The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program provides new clothes and toys for 1 million children who usually go without gifts during the holiday season. Anonymous donors adopt these little "angels" in an expanding holiday tradition that makes the season brighter for both the gift giver and receiver.
