Christmas Tree Recycling Pickup To Begin In Lisle
See how to recycle your Christmas tree when the holiday greens collection starts in Lisle in January.

LISLE, IL — Lakeshore Recycling Systems will collect Christmas trees from homes in Lisle in January.
To make sure your tree is eligible for pickup you must:
- Be a customer who gets curbside trash collection
- Remove lights, tinsel, garland, ornaments and other decorations from your tree
- Place your tree on the curb prior to collection
Certain trees and items are not eligible to be picked up. These include:

- Tinsel
- Light bulbs
- Flocked trees
- Trees with shiners
- Plastic trees
- Wire trees
- Trees in plastic bags
Crews will make rounds on Jan. 5 and Jan. 12 to collect the discarded Christmas trees. Through Jan. 27, residents can drop off their defunct extension cords and holiday lights at Lisle Village Hall, 925 Burlington Ave. whenever the facility is open.
