A citizen obtained copies of W-2's for elected officials in the south suburb of Thornton, IL and learned that some trustees working less than 100 hours per year were illegally participating in IMRF.
When IMRF required that the elected officials submit a signed affidavit certifying they were working the minimum 1000 hours per year - none of them signed. They were terminated from IMRF. A false statement on the certification of hours worked is a Class 3 felony.
