High school janitor recovering from surgery
Long time Lisle High School custodian, Thomas "Tommy" Hamburg, is recovering from surgery.  At the end of April students and staff had their picture taken by owner Bill Buchelt to send to Tommy while he’s recovering.

In the picture, everyone is doing a fist bump, which is Tommy's signature greeting.  You can find Tommy always smiling and talking with the students and the staff of the high school.  Tommy is in charge of cleaning up the commons area after lunch, and his student helpers are called Tommy's crew.

Spanish students visit former Lisle teacher in Costa Rica
Thirty-five students, including five members of Kathy Sally’s Spanish V class, recently traveled to San José, Costa Rica this spring for a ten-day educational field trip.

Sally’s class has been in touch with the elementary class of former Lisle teacher Abigail Fisher, so each set of students can improve their conversational second languages.

Those who travelled to Costa Rica spent an afternoon with their pen pals. Students will continue to stay in touch as the school year ends.
