Dog Saved From On Icy Pond In Lisle Needs New Home
The dog, nicknamed Elsa Hyatt, was found whimpering and stranded out on the frozen pond. .
LISLE, IL — A pup is on the mend and looking for a new home after she was rescued from an icy pond in Lisle Thursday. A doctor and employee at Partners and Paws Veterinarian Services saved the dog, who was stranded on a pond behind the Hyatt hotel, but they have been unable to track down her owners as she has no microchip.
In a post on Facebook, Partners and Paws wrote that a Good Samaritan alerted them that the dog was stuck on the frozen pond. Two employees of the animal hospital, Dr. Newman and Anjali, along with Lisle Police Community Service Officer Luke Carpentier, were caught on film helping get to dog to safety.
Staff at Partners and Paws say it's unclear how Elsa ended up on the pond in the first place or how long she had been there. The pup didn't have any tags, but staff at Partners and Paws gave her a fitting name, considering her icy ordeal: Elsa Hyatt.
