Dress Like A Tree To Get Into Morton Arboretum Free On Arbor Day
The Arbor Day festivities last throughout the weekend and include an appearance by Curious George.
LISLE, IL -- Morton Arboretum is planning a slew of family-friendly activities for Arbor Day and guests can experience all of the April 26 festivities for free if they show up dressed like a tree. Residents can take part in tree planting, story time, and meet Curious George by simply donning a green shirt and brown pants or by decking themselves out in faux branches and whatever else their imagination can conjure.
The arboretum is offering free admission for those dressed as a tree on April 26 only. Here's a roundup of the Morton Arboretum's events on Arbor Day and throughout Arbor Day weekend.
Tree Planting and Story Time with Curious George

Curious George and The Man in the Yellow Hat will be making a special stop at Morton Arboretum on April 26 at 11 a.m. to plant trees with children and to read "Curious George Plants A Tree" out loud with those in attendance.

Morton Arboretum will host self-guided, kid-friendly activities throughout Arbor Day weekend. On April 26-28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., kids can head to the Children's Garden to plant tree seeds and go on a hunt to spot five special trees located in the garden.
Arbor Day Block Party
On April 28 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., East Side Roads near the arboretum will be closed to traffic and occupied by bicyclists and food trucks to celebrate Arbor Day. Bach to Rock will be on hand to provide live music for the family-friendly event, which features eats from Cupcakes for Courage, Grumpy Gaucho, Best Truckin' BBQ, Roaming Hog, Kona Ice, Crust Culture Pizza, and more.
If you don't have your own bike, don't worry. You can rent one onsite from Mill Race Cyclery. Admission is $5 for non-members and free for members.
Arbor Day Plant Sale
