DuPage County Toys For Tots Gala Event Kicks Off The Holiday Season in Naperville

The Stiletto Strategy Group and The Yogi Within invite the public to attend the 5th annual Toys For Tots Gala event on Friday, November 14 at the Hilton of Lisle/Naperville.

Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, desserts by Dark Horse Pastries and a coffee station, silent auction items, music and dancing, and a roomful of networking, socializing, and merriment. Internet Radio Host Dolly McCarthy of “The Dolly McCarthy Show” will be the evening’s emcee.

The mission of the Toys For Tots Foundation is to assist the United States Marine Corps Reserve in providing a tangible sign of hope at Christmastime to economically disadvantaged children. The success of the program relies on volunteer support and community involvement. Attendees of the Toys For Tots Gala are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the event, and all toy donations of the evening will be distributed by members of the Marine Corps and the Foundation, volunteers, local social welfare agencies, and church groups to needy children within the community.

“I can’t imagine not having those happy childhood memories of Christmas, and it breaks my heart to know that there are children in our community who do not get to enjoy that,” says Nicole Comis, Event Organizer and Sponsor/Owner of The Stiletto Strategy Group. “That’s why I’ve made it my mission every year to help DuPage County Toys For Tots fulfill their motto: ‘Every Child Deserves A Little Christmas!’”

DuPage County Toys For Tots Coordinator Rita O’Reilly agrees: “The annual Toys For Tots Gala hosted by The Stiletto Strategy Group is the kickoff event for the DuPage County Toys For Tots season and is recognized by the Foundation as a significant contributor to our overall goals.”

Last year, the DuPage County Marine Corps League Det. #399 Toys For Tots campaign:

* distributed over 58,900 toys to 27,768 children aged 0-13, and

* collected $47,242 in monetary donations used to purchase additional toys (each year there is a shortage of toys collected for kids of ages 11-13).

“While Toys For Tots Coordinators organize, coordinate, and manage the campaign, the ultimate success depends on the support of the local community and the generosity of the people who donate toys,” notes Rita. “Events like the Gala help us create awareness and exposure for Toys For Tots in the local communities, which ultimately translates into hope for more children at Christmas.”
