Lisle Depot Days

Lisle Depot Days runs from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, and Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Museums at Lisle Station Park, Lisle.  Admission free. www.lisleparkdistrict.org. New this year are:

  • A Civil War luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. each day featuring bean soup, shepherd's pie and bread pudding made by Wheatstack, A Midwestern Eatery.  Cost is $7 per person.
  • Miller's Petting Zoo featuring live farm animals that are available for petting and photos
  • Hourly firing of a Civil War cannon and a Civil War encampment

Other favorite attractions include:

  • Tours of an operating blacksmith shop
  • Music by musicians from Old Town School of Folk Music
  • Children's games
  • The old Lisle train station
  • A giant operating HO guage railroad train
  • A caboose 
  • Historic fully-furnished buildings
