LSHS Presents "Kiss Me Kate"

This year, from  March 17-19 under the direction of Patricia Kerback,  Lisle Senior High School will present the classic Cole Porter musical  "Kiss Me Kate".  The story involves an actor Fred Graham and his wife, Lili who attempt to stage a production of Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew.  In this effort, Fred and Lili discover much like Shakespeare’s Petruchio and Kate, that they have trouble when they are together, but can’t stand to be apart.

Ms. Kerback discussed her selection of this show. “When I begin the process of choosing a show I look my potential cast and I choose a show knowing that I have students who could fill the roles.  Then, I'm always wonderfully surprised when new kids come in and raise the bar. I also chose it because it's Cole Porter whose music is simply some of the best. “

She is especially excited about this cast. “This depth of talent will be apparent to anyone who sees the show.  The strength of this particular cast is truly their musical ability.  I have really good, strong singers and actors. With this play also involving the language of Shakespeare it is no easy task.  The rhythm and word usage of that language is so unfamiliar to the kids and we've worked on making it understandable to them.”
