St. Joan of Arc Students Present the Stations of the Cross

During this Lenten season, 8th grade students at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School, a nationally recognized 2011 Blue Ribbon School, will present a prayerful rendition of the Stations of the Cross on April 3 at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., in the St. Joan of Arc gymnasium. The children, in period clothing, reenact the scenes of the Stations of the Cross, culminating with the joyous Resurrection of Jesus.

This service is seen as a “rite of passage” for the 8th graders who have been witnessing this presentation each year since Kindergarten.  “The 8th grade students, walking in the footsteps of Christ, enhance their own journeys of faith by portraying the Living Stations of the Cross,” explains 8th grade teacher, Mrs. Svitak. In addition to the 8th graders who perform, create artwork for the booklets and handle the lighting, first grade siblings act out the roles of children in the scenes.  For more information please contact the school office at 630-969-1732.
