Express Centers Bring CareNet Pregnancy Help to More DuPage Communities
Free walk in pregnancy counseling now available in six DuPage locations
CareNet Pregnancy Services of DuPage is now easily accessible to women in Elmhurst and south Downers Grove with new express centers open for business. Free pregnancy counseling, walk in or by appointment, is available at both CareNet express locations. These new express centers supplement the full service pregnancy help available at CareNet’s north Downers Grove, Glen Ellyn, Naperville and Wood Dale locations.
“Expanding women’s access to CareNet services is a key strategy to reducing the number of abortions in the greater DuPage County area,” stated Barbara Singer, President of CareNet Pregnancy Services. “Where a woman goes for help dictates the outcome of her pregnancy,” she explained, “Only three out of 100 women (or 3%), who visit a Planned Parenthood facility, choose to continue their pregnancy; by contrast, three out of every four women (75%) who come to CareNet choose life for their child.” In light of these statistics, CareNet’s express center initiative is intentionally designed to save more lives.
Collaboration with churches and other organizations is allowing CareNet to open express centers in strategic locations with selective hours.

The current sites were selected because of their proximity to potentially vulnerable women. The express center on 63rd is directly across the street from Downers Grove South School. The Elmhurst location is blocks away from Immaculate Conception high school, close to Elmhurst’s Timothy Christian and York high schools, and within five miles of four other large high schools. This express center in Elmhurst’s downtown shopping and dining district is also near Elmhurst College and accessible to underserved pregnant women in western Cook County. Future express center expansions are planned for Bolingbrook, Warrenville and West Chicago.
“CareNet is committed to reaching pregnant vulnerable women first,” stated Singer. “These express centers will expand CareNet’s ability to do so, and provide them with excellent services intended to meet their needs and enable them to make life affirming decisions.”
