Garage Fire Leads to Roof Collapse: Officials
A family of three escaped Tuesday night blaze.

Plainfield firefighters responded to a fire that appears to have started in a garage in the 11000 block of Highland Drive in Naperville, Deputy Fire Chief Jon Stratton said.
According to Stratton, emergency crews received the call at around 10 p.m. after a teenager living in the house heard and smelled something coming from the garage. After spotting smoke when he opened the garage door, the teen notified his father, Stratton said.
The teen and his parents all got out of the house unscathed, Stratton said.

The fire spread from the garage into an attic area, causing a partial roof collapse, according to Stratton. He said the blaze caused “significant damage” to the home.
Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
