Lisle, IL – Join the Lisle Park District, in collaboration with Lisle VFW – Post 5696, the Lisle Community Band, and Lisle Jr. High Small Ensemble, as we honor and observe Veterans Day on Sunday, November 10.

The Veterans Day Observance will be held at the Lisle Veterans Memorial located at 921 School Street on the grounds of The Museums at Lisle Station Park at 11am. The Lisle Community Band will play patriotic music to signify the start of the event, which will include ‘Posting of the Colors’ by the Color Guard, the National Anthem performed by the Lisle Community Band and sung by the Lisle Jr. High Small Ensemble, as well as a salute to each branch of service with a medley performed by the Lisle Community Band and remarks by various speakers and dignitaries. The Lisle Community Band will then perform ‘God Bless America,’ with singing led by the Jr. High Small Ensemble. For a full listing of the sequence of events, visit lisleparkdistrict.org. Free parking for the event is available at the train station commuter lots, and limited parking is available in front of the museum on Short Street.

The Lisle Veterans Memorial began as a grassroots effort by the Lisle Veterans Memorial Steering Committee to construct a monument honoring veterans and promoting civic pride. Over 300 memorial pathway bricks were purchased and installed at the site bearing the names of those who have served. In partnership with Lisle Park District, Lisle Partners for Parks Foundation, and community members, construction of the memorial was completed and dedicated in the fall of 2016.
